The Fourth Annual Lake Hartwell Music Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 28th 2016.

2016 is being themed the Year of Georgia Music by the Georgia Department of Economic Developments Tourism Division. So what better way to celebrate this theme than with our annual Lake Hartwell Music Festival!?

H.Y.D.R.A. of Hart County, Inc. is hosting its 4th annual Lake Hartwell Music Festival to be held on Saturday, May 28th 2016 at the end of old 29/Long Point!  Mark your calendars for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend to Party with a Purpose for H.Y.D.R.A. on Lake Hartwell. This years lineup will have a large variety of music.

We are extremely excited about our headliner this year! As a part of the Year of Georgia Music celebration, the Lake Hartwell Music Festival has booked Michelle Malone, winner of the 2015 Georgia Music Award for Best Female Rock Artist. Over the course of her 20-year career, Malone has won numerous awards including Best Acoustic Guitarist (Creative Loafing), and Album of the Year (Atlanta Magazine). Her albums Sugar Foot and Debris, released on SBS Records, both made the Grammy Award ballot for best Contemporary Blues and Best Americana Albums. Malone has collaborated in the studio and on stage with such artists as Gregg Allman, Chuck Leavell, John Mayer, Sugarland, Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, Drivin' N Cryin', Little Feat, Albert King, Charlie Musselwhite, Johnny Winter, ZZ Top, Robert Cray, Keb Mo, Marcia Ball, Steve Earle, Jackson Browne, James Taylor and Ellen DeGeneres. Michelle also performed at Hartwells own High Cotton Music Hall in March and will be at Laid Back Festival in Atlanta where she is performing with Gregg Allman, ZZ Top, Blackberry Smoke, and Kevin Kinney Band.

After last years outstanding performance we are excited that the hot local band Reservoir Dogs from Hartwell, GA return this year to rock the crowd with southern classic rock hits like no other. John Atkinson will be returning from a mini tour in Europe for this event. Playing for the Reservoir Dogs are John Atkinson-Vocals and Harmonica, Randy Rhea-Drums, Rich Smith-Guitar and Tony Stewart-Bass Guitar.

Clay Page has been playing live shows since the age of fourteen. At twenty-one he can be found all over the southeast making noise in your favorite venues.   His heart is in writing and his originals can be found on iTunes and on his three albums: "Out in the Woods," "Homemade," and "Replay."  His latest single, "Country Song" will release in the Spring of 2016. Clay has been recognized by some of the top leading industry professionals for his writing and continues to write daily

The DiMarco Band was founded in 2012 by Jody DiMarco and Nick DiMarco along with members Denny Martin, Marshall Walker and Chris Whitfield. Di-Mar-Co plays a straight ahead variety of Country, Southern and Classic Rock and Blues Rock that will leave you singing along to your favorites!!  All the members of DiMarco are local Hartwell natives who enjoy playing music and leaving the audience with a smile at each show.  2016 will be a busy year for the band as they continue to play both local and regional shows. The band will also be performing DiMarco original music this year. Band Members are:  Jody DiMarco-Guitar/Vocals, Nick DiMarco-Guitar/Vocals, Chris Whitfield-Cajon/Percussion, Denny Martin-Drums/Percussion/Vocals, and Marshall Walker-Bass Guitar

Second Time Around is a band composed of members who first performed as a band in the late 60's and played into the early 80's.  They joined together again with some other musician friends in 2015 to form Second Time Around.  Second Time Around plays classic rock, Motown and many of the hits of the past several decades. Band members are: Bobby Jackson-Drums, Mike Cole-Vocals/Harmonica, Rick Crider-Keyboards, Mitch Skelton-Bass/Vocals, and Jimmy Sanders- Guitar/Vocals.

Ethan Crump, a nineteen year old Hartwell native, will be releasing his first EP "Hellfire and Amazing Grace" this spring. A collection of five original Americana/Folk songs, it is already creating a buzz and receiving accolades from critics, musicians, and music lovers alike.  "Keep your ear out for a fine young songwriter with a voice like a young John Prine. He's a big talent who will surely be getting noticed with his latest 5 song release 'Hellfire & Amazing Grace'!" - Randall Bramblett. Performing onstage will be Ethan Crump-Guitar/Vocals, Jody Dimarco-Guitar/Vocals, Denny Martin-Drums, Marshall Walker-Bass, Sandy Mabry-Vocals, and Eric Line-Fiddle.

newRealm is a group of guys in Athens passionate about leading people in genuine worship. After leading worship together for a few years at a campus ministry, we started writing music and performing for youth groups and churches in early 2014. After over a year of writing and performing, we released our debut album, The Harbor, in October, 2015. We have played places ranging from a living room to larger venues such as the 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA. We strive to produce a full band sound while also creating an intimate, exposed worship setting. Band Members are: Bobby Forrester-Vocals/Guitar, Evan Reece-Guitar/Vocals, John Dexter Burch-Lead Guitar, Dre Dotson-Bass and Brian Wallace-Drums/Percussion.

Hannah Richardson from Hartwell, GA. has been playing a variety of classic rock and county to the delight of audiences for the last 6 years.

Combining the abundance of 8 live bands, food and retail vendors, activities, snacks, crafts, and the beautiful waters of Lake Hartwell as a backdrop, this will be an amazing holiday-weekend event! The excitement begins at 1:00 p.m. Bring the family (kids under 10 are FREE), some chairs, and a cooler (no glass allowed). This is a party with a purpose; all proceeds will benefit H.Y.D.R.A. Hart Youth Development Resource Association, H.Y.D.R.A., offers year-round programs that provide support, education, and encouragement for our youth.
